I had a dream that led me to start this blog. It scared me and challenged me at the beginning of this journey. I would like to share this dream to provide understanding in some of my thought processes.
The second day of this quest, I had a dream that I was in a house with God. I felt safe, secure and was without worry. He was talking to me about my actions. He told me that I had a choice: I could sin continually and live a life that was satisfying in the eyes of man, or I could live my life for Him and strive to follow Him in all things. He told me to choose by entering the door on the left or the right. The door on the left signified a life of sin and the door on the right signified a life following Him.
I chose the door on the left. I walked up to the solid wood door, aged over time but still strong, and started to open it. It opened only about four inches; just enough to see a black serpent, about eight inches in diameter and incredibly long. Right away I knew it was Satan. I only had a glimpse right before it thrust itself, striking the door about halfway up. He was trying to devour me because of the choice I had made.
Fear immediately consumed me, however, I continued to try and open the door. The serpent continued to attack the door vigorously; one strike after another, hissing while trying to destroy me.
Then I woke up.
I’ve been thinking about this dream constantly. I don’t understand why I choose that door? I also don’t understand why I continued to try and get out when I knew Satan was trying to devour me on the other side?
I feel as though in this quest, I will be tempted and tried by the Devil. Just as he was trying profusely to devour and destroy me in my dream, he will tempt and try to divert me from my goal. Please pray for me and encourage me to stay with this, even when it gets tough.
This dream was the reason I started this blog. I had this dream prior to starting this blog but after I started this journey. That is why the first 3 days are being posted all in one night. I will do my best to continue to post each day after I am finished in the Word.
