Chapter 15 verse 35 is interesting to me. It says, "And the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel." The Lord regretted a decision He made?! That statement does not seem right.
However, I do like what God says when He tells Samuel who is going to be the next king. Chapter 16 verse 7 says, "For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."
This is both comforting and scary. God can see our heart, what we are thinking and our attitude and nature. This is the way God sees us! And yet, he still calls us His children. I thank God for His love, forgiveness and grace.
