Day 97

I love the story of Ruth. She is known for her loyalty to Naomi. This loyalty allowed her to be recognized by those of Bethlehem and find favor with Boaz.

I think Boaz is a great example of what a Christian should be like. He was generous in that he let others glean in his fields. He saw Ruth and protected her from other male gleaners and was very generous in the amount of food he gave her. Later, he took on the responsibility of being her kinsman redeemer, but not before ensuring the proper channels were satisfied. He went the extra mile for Ruth and Naomi to ensure their safekeeping and well being, and he was a respected man in his community.

I need to be more like Boaz. Quite often, I get tied up in myself and do not reach out to others as I should. Boaz is a great example of how a Christian should reach out to others.
