Day 118

David is known as the greatest king in Israel. Yet, his sons seem to be the thorns in his sides. Now Absalom conspires against David to overthrow him. He gains the trust of the people.

And what about the people? They have been with David for a while and have seen what a great leader he is. Now when Absalom speaks against David, they quickly turn from him.

I find it interesting the hardships David went through. Even though the Lord was with him and he was the greatest king, there were many times that were not perfect.

I believe this is something to keep in mind for me too. I often believe that if I am truly dedicated to God, then everything will be great. But that is not the case. However, because I am with God and know Him, I know that He is there, even in the hardships. I know He will take care of me. That is why I love the Lord my God.
