Day 311

What an example of generosity the apostles and others showed after the Holy Spirit came.

Acts 2 verses 44 and 45 says, "And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need."

This was the first church! All who believed were gathered together. They were also giving of themselves in order to help those in need! What a great and difficult example of what we are called to do. We are to give and help to those who are in need, even if it means giving of ourselves.

I pray that I can recognize these needs and have the faith to give up of myself and fill those needs as shown in the example of the apostles.
