Just how valuable is Christ? How valuable is knowing Him?

Paul tells us how valuable Christ is to Him in Philippians 3 verses 7 and 8. He says, "But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ."

Paul says that everything is worthless compared to the worth of knowing Christ! He is more valuable than everything. Paul gave everything in order to obtain Christ.

I have to think about this when I consider something of value. Christ is worth everything I have and more. Why focus on other things when I need Christ?
