My heart goes out to Job. He wants to cry out to God and plead his case, but Job cannot find God. However, chapter 23 verse 10 says, "But He knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold."
This verse has 2 parts and I like them both. The first says, "...He knows the way that I take." Job knows that even though he can't find God, God is still there. God knows every step that Job makes. He knows every step that I take as well. Even when I feel far away from Him. That is a comfort.
The second part of this verse is also powerful. Job says, "I shall come out as gold." Job knows he is being tested by God and by Satan, but he made the commitment to stay with God, even when it causes him misery, and when the test is over, he will come out as gold. He will be pure and valuable.
Quite often, when going through trials, I fold. I come out as the impurities from the smelting process; ugly and worthless to God. Job teaches me that I must stay pure and faithful, especially in the tests and trials. This a good lesson and a tough challenge.
