Day 269

There are so many things being bombarded at us in these scripture readings, it is difficult to pinpoint one thing.

However, once again, one thing that struck me was Joseph. They just had Jesus about 2 years ago, enough time to get settled into a place, and he then has a dream. Matthew 2 verse 13 says, "...An angel of the lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, 'Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you...'"

Whoa! That would be so difficult for him. He had to pack up his life and his family and move to Egypt; a different country! I can't imagine what he told Mary!

What faith he must have had to follow where the Lord led him! It reminds me that I am not here on this Earth to do what I want to do or follow my own whims. But instead I am here to accomplish all that the Lord has set for me to do. I am here to follow Him and to glorify Him. Period!
