Day 281

What an ultimate act of faith by the disciples. Luke 9 verses 1 through 6 describe how Jesus sent out the disciples to spread His teachings to Israel. However, Jesus had some requirements. Luke 9 verse 3 says, "Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money, and do not have two tunics."

To me that is the ultimate act of faith, to devote your entire life to spreading the Gospel but not taking any supplies. They are to trust completely for their everyday needs.

I can learn a lot from Jesus's charge and the disciples's faith. The disciples left knowing they would be taken care of, even when they had nothing. It is a tough lesson for me, but I too am learning to trust. I know that it is through Christ that I am taken care of. I thank Him and continue to hand over everything to Him.
