It blows me away that Elijah offers Elisha anything, and what he asks for is a double portion of Elijah's spirit on Elisha.
This reminds me of Solomon asking for wisdom when he could have anything. I think both Elisha and Solomon knew that money and possessions do not last and are worth nothing in the end, but wisdom and the spirit of the Lord are precious gifts that cannot be taken.
This makes me re-think about my priorities. If these wise men ask for wisdom and a double portion of the Spirit of the Lord, why do I focus so much on my finances and my possessions?
I need to keep this in mind each day.
