Day 171

What a story Jonah has! He hears God's calling, but is afraid. So he hops on a boat instead. But a storm comes up so bad, that he knows he has to be thrown into the water for the storm to cease. So, reluctantly, the others on the boat throw him in, and he gets swallowed by a big fish!

I don't know how he survived, but he was in the fish for 3 days! After the 3rd day, the fish spits him out on dry land. I then sees the power of God and decides to go to Nineveh. Once there, he preaches to them and they repent. God does not destroy the city like He said He would.

Jonah is upset! He went through being inside a fish and finally giving in. Then he goes to Nineveh where nothing happens!

However, God showed him that He is a God of compassion. God spared him after 3 days in a fish, and God spares the city because they repented.

What a great God I serve. A compassionate God who can do anything, even keep Jonah alive while inside a fish. I will continue to follow Him.
