I like how the Lord reminds us often of the lesson found in James 4 verses 13 and 14 say, "'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit' - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring."
My wife and I, as most parents had everything planned out for kids, such as which month they will be born in, what year after our marriage, and their birth order. However, the Lord had other plans! Our first came several years before we intended on getting pregnant. I cannot tell you how much I love my kids. I wouldn't change anything, but it threw off our timeframe. It was the same thing for our second. She came several months before she was due.
In a way, this is comforting to me because it shows I do not have control. I do not think I could handle that responsibility! I want my plans and agendas to come from the Lord who knows all, not myself who sins, and can only see the moment. I thank God for reminding me that I am not in charge!
