After the tabernacle was built, the first offerings were brought. They came first from the chiefs of each tribe brought oxen and wagons to be used by those in the tabernacle.
Then the chiefs brought their offerings of grain and sacrifices. Each one brought something on their day. This lasted 12 days. Once that was finished, "Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him." (verse 89) Finally after all the hard work of making the altar, the cherubim, and the tabernacle itself, God speaks to Moses from within the tent of meeting! How gratifying that must have been when Moses saw that all they had done was worth it!
I wonder what God said to Moses that first time in the tabernacle. I'm sure it was "well done!" One day, God will speak to us, after we have completed what He has called us to do, and say, "Well done!" I am waiting for that day.
