Day 54

The last paragraph of the reading today struck me as interesting. It says, "...keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord. And you shall not profane my holy name, that I may be sanctified among the people of Israel..." (chapter 22 verses 31 and 32)

God first instructs us to keep His commandments, but He also says what keeping His commandments does. It keeps us from profaning His holy name. Keeping the Lord's commandments keeps us from not giving Him the glory, respect and honor He deserves. I have never thought of it that way.

And as a result of not profaning His holy name, He is sanctified. He is glorified with the full glory He deserves. I have never thought of this before, but it really puts things into perspective. This is something I need to remember on a daily basis.
