Once again, the statement comes up when referring to David. Chapter 18 verse 14 says, "And David had success in all his undertakings, for the Lord was with him." Verse 30 also says, "David had more success thank all the servants of Saul, so that his name was highly esteemed."
The Lord was with him. Saul tried to kill David while they were in Saul's chambers with a spear, but was unsuccessful each time. David was blessed with a great friend in Jonathan who was always there for him.
It is my continuing prayer that the Lord is with me in the same way as he was with Joseph and David.
