In the reading for today, the Lord shows the Ezekiel the specifications for the new temple. The Lord lays out the dimensions of it, then He specifies what is required to purify the altars for further sacrifice.
Ezekiel 43 verse 22 says, "...you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and the altar shall be purified..."
The purification of the altar required a sacrifice without blemish. This reminds me of Jesus Christ. He was the sacrifice in our place that purified us in the eyes of the Lord! He was without blemish, and pure. This was the only acceptable sacrifice to take our place.
Thank you, Jesus, for taking our place on the cross as the sacrifice without blemish.
