Day 286

In the reading for today, the disciples try to cast out a demon from a boy, but are unable.

The disciples approached Jesus later and asked Him why they could not cast out the demon. Jesus replied in Matthew 17 verse 20, "Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you. If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

I long for a faith like this where I pray wholly confident that the Lord can do all that I ask and more. I am getting there, but still traces of doubt creep in. I believe that is what is holding me back.

I continue to strive for this kind of faith, and as the father of the boy with the spirit said in Mark 9:24, "I believe; help my unbelief!"
