I believe that being able to take criticism well is very important. Psalm 141 verse 5 says, "Let a righteous man strike me - it is a kindness; let him rebuke me - it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it."
I believe David is saying the same thing about criticism. Let a righteous man strike me or rebuke me, it is kindness. Let someone who is deeper in their faith criticize me, for it will only make me better.
I know this is getting ahead a little bit, but Proverbs 27 verse 17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (NIV)
I will continue to be open to criticism as it only makes me stronger and better. Thanks be to God for others to sharpen me in my faith and in my life.
