Another favorite story of mine is Daniel and the Lion's Den. Daniel's colleagues tricked the king into signing a decree which they knew would lead to Daniel being thrown into the lion's den. They knew Daniel had the kind of faith that could not be swayed by decrees made by the king.
So Daniel was caught praying to the Lord rather than the king and was thrown into the lion's den. I feel somewhat bad for the king, because he could not go back on the decree that he made, but it also led to him throwing his friend and good worker into the den.
However, the next morning, the king raced to the den and had it opened and found Daniel alive and unharmed. Daniel 6 verse 23 says, "So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God."
That is so cool! It was Daniel's trust in the Lord that kept him safe from the lions. And it is my trust in the Lord that keeps me safe in all circumstances. The Lord is watching over me, and I thank the Lord for His continued faithfulness and love toward me.
