Day 260

Once again it amazes me how the Lord uses anyone to fulfill His plan.

Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king. He found favor with the king, but was upset because the city of Jerusalem was in ruin. The king saw that Nehemiah was upset and asked what he could do. Nehemiah proposed that the king write letters to command others to let Nehemiah reach Jerusalem, and also to supply Nehemiah with the materials needed to rebuild Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 2 verse 8 says, "And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me."

Nehemiah recognizes that what he is doing is in line with the Lord's will and plan and he also recognizes that probably under normal circumstances the king would have said no. But Nehemiah also recognizes that the hand of the Lord is upon him.

Not only does the Lord use everyday people to do extraordinary things, but He also is capable of so much more! Every day I find out more and more how wonderful the Lord is!
