Day 293

Before every reading, I pray. I pray about everything, mainly about what is on my mind at the time, and also I pray of the things I have learned so far and I pray that the Lord would reveal to me what He is speaking in the readings for that day.

In the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus prays twice. Once when He hears of Lazarus, and once at the tomb.

The second time Jesus prays, He says this in John 11 verse 41 and 42, "Father, I thank You that You have heard me. I knew that You always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that You sent me."

Jesus said the second prayer to increase the faith of those at the tomb. However, Jesus knew that His first prayer was answered. He knew that the Lord hears every prayer.

I have to remember that the Lord hears every prayer. When I pray, I am talking directly to the Lord! I have to take that seriously. What a privilege and a blessing it is to be able to talk to the Lord my God!
