I am not a fan of Laban. I feel for Jacob. Jacob worked for Laban for 7 years in order to earn Rachel as his wife. When the time came, Laban tricked Jacob and gave him Leah instead! So Jacob worked for Laban 7 more years in order to earn Rachel. After that, Jacob worked 6 years in order to earn the flock that had grown under Jacob's care. When the time came for Jacob to collect, Laban tricked him again! I cannot believe this guy!
But the Lord was with Jacob and blessed him. The Lord kept Laban from killing Jacob and took care of him. I cannot fathom the love Jacob must have for Rachel to serve her father for 14 years in order to take her as his wife! That is also a good lesson in patience. The perfect love is one worth waiting for.
I am blessed in that I found my perfect love at an early age. I try my best to be patient with her always and cherish her and that will never change. I love her and will work for her forever.
