I have never read the book of Amos, but I found chapter 4 very interesting.
Verses 6 through 11 quotes God saying He has sent many disasters and troubles upon you including, withholding rain, destruction of crops, overthrowing kings, and many other things, yet you did not return to the Lord. Therefore, prepare to meet your God! Prepare to be judged!
This speaks to me and says, along with many other verses and passages so far, "Put your trust in the Lord for everything you idiot!"
I need to hear this often. I need to call myself an idiot often. It reminds me that the only logical and scientifically proven way to be at peace is to trust in the one true and loving God! Lord help me to trust you and follow this simple, obvious, yet challenging concept.
