I find the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego amazing. The Lord spared them from the fiery furnace which was heated to seven times more than it usually was.
I noticed something significant while reading this story. When these three men were before the king explaining themselves and why the would not bow down to the statue the king had made, the king threatened to throw them into the furnace if they did not bow down.
Daniel 3 verse 17 says, "If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king."
As 1 Corinthians 1:31 says, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." These men claimed their salvation in Christ and He delivered!
I have to remember that the Lord is there and can do so much more than I can imagine. Also, when I boast, I must boast in the Lord. He is the one who has blessed me and can do all things.
