I can't imagine how bad things must have been when a king was in place that did not chase after the Lord's heart. The times of Zedekiah were no exception. He also did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord.
2 Kings 24 verse 20 says, "For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that He cast them out from His presence."
They were a people that turned away from the Lord and therefore, the Lord was no longer with them. I can't imagine what it would be like without the Lord! To me, that would be the scariest experience to be in a place where the Lord is not there!
I thank the Lord for His forgiveness and for His never ending love for me. I promise to chase after Him always.
