Day 231

I believe one of the things God calls us to do is to be a good example of the Lord to others. We must show what a Christian looks like and acts like.

Ezekiel 16 describes an Israel who was not living up to the example that was expected. Chapter 16 verses 51 and 52 say, "Samaria has not committed half your sins. You have committed more abominations than they, and have made your sisters appear righteous by all the abominations that you have committed. Bear your disgrace...Because of your sins in which you acted more abominably than they..."

Non believers were acting more upright and Godly than the Lord's chosen people. They were an embarrassment to the Lord. So the Lord said to bear their disgrace. Take responsibility for your actions and be a good example of the Lord.

I always try to relate the reading to myself and I wonder how often I am a disgrace to the Lord by my example. I believe I have not been doing as well as I expect out of myself lately.

This is also something I am continually working on in order better display the joy I have in Him, and to demonstrate to others what a joy it is to be a child of the Lord!
