Day 215

In the passage for today, Josiah dies. He is killed in battle. I was blown away at how the people reacted to his death.

2 Chronicles 35 verses 24 and 25 say, "All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah. Jeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all the singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these a rule in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments."

It has been a while since reading about a reaction like this to a king passing away. I think it is amazing that they made it a rule to mention Josiah in the Laments. It was that sad for them.

This inspires me. I see the impact of what one person chasing after the Lord with all their heart can do. I see what an effect he had on others.

I know God has great things planned for me. I pray that I can fulfill all of the Lord's expectations and make an impact for Him like Josiah did.
