Ezekiel is talking to the Pharaoh in Egypt with words from the Lord in Ezekiel 29 verses 9 and 10 when he says, "Because you said, 'The Nile is mine, and I made it,' therefore, behold, I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation..."
From reading this, Pharaoh believed himself to be greater than the Lord. He took credit for things that the Lord deserved credit for. Because of this, the Lord was against Pharaoh and made the land of Egypt a waste.
This is rather powerful considering how many times I may take credit for things that really the Lord deserves credit for. The Lord has blessed me with all the abilities I have, and to take credit for anything takes away from the Lord. The Lord ruined Egypt for this!
If one is to boast, boast in the Lord!
I have to remember this in each day.
