Day 71

I do not know much about Deuteronomy, however, I like the start of the book. It is a look into the events in the desert from the perspective of Moses and the people.

Chapter 2 describes "The Wilderness Years." I find this interesting because it shows that God always keeps His promises. Back in Genesis, God gave land to Esau and Lot on separate occasions. Israel has been going from city to city, conquering them all. But God specifically says, "Do not contend with them, for I will not give you any of their land..." (verse 5) (see also verse 9).

God has promised to take care of Israel and allow them to prosper, but He is not going to compromise the promise He made to both Esau and Lot.

I am so thankful I serve a God who keeps His promises.
